About Us

Perfection. The goal Oneida has strived for since it was founded almost 200 years ago.

Oneida was established in upstate New York as a way to get to utopia. To support the community, our members began to make silverware. Soon, they became famous, as Oneida’s quality was utopian.

What is silverware? Silver comes with properties that can help fight bacteria. Before disinfectants, the various utensils like cups, candlesticks, spoons, plates, and table-weights were coated in silver so as to keep them sanitary. With the advent of modern soaps and dishwashers, real silver was no longer necessary. Now, we use stainless-steel but the name stuck – any household utensil with that iconic shine is known as silverware. In modern days, however, ‘silverware’ has become another synonym for flatware. And Oneida is a synonym for top-of-the-line.

Oneida revolutionized the entire industry when it first came up with stainless-steel flatware back in the 1960s. The high-end products that anyone could afford – the whole world could have access to the finest flatware. Now, the whole world wanted Oneida.

Styles, quality, sizes – we have what your home is missing. Knives, forks, and spoons. Modern or classical. Simple or ornate. Delicate and carved or heavy and oversized. We have more than 2,000 patterns with multiple finishes. This is your dream style – made real.  This was Oneida’s vision in 1848. About 170 years later, this still defines our spirit today.

Welcome to Oneida: the home of flatware.
